AT&T’s 3G Network Is Going Away. Here’s What You Need To Know

Out with the old, in with the new! AT&T is looking to sunset their 3G networks by February 2022 as they shift their focus to the future to building out their 5G networks. This means anyone with a 3G device and even a 4G device (anything not HD voice capable) will not be supported on the AT&T network.

If you’re someone who is still rocking an older device, it means talk and data services that don’t at least support a 4G LTE connection or HD Voice, will no longer work. AT&T sent texts to all of their affected customers, however you can check here to see if your phone will still work.

If you’re on an affected device, there are multiple ways you can upgrade:

  1. Upgrade online
  2. Visit an AT&T store
  3. Disconnect unused lines

Customers who have to upgrade will enjoy a multitude of benefits that include AT&T Call Protect (no more robocalls), faster download speeds, high-resolution cameras, better sound quality and so much more.

If you’re an AT&T customer and have questions, we recommend calling AT&T for additional help. The good thing is you’ve still got some time to upgrade, but it’s better to go ahead and get a jump on it instead of waiting until the last minute.
