HMD Global, branded as Nokia, announced this week that it’s launching one of the cheapest 5G phones available: the Nokia X100. Exclusively for T-Mobile and Metro customers, this phone combines 5G, great audio, a big screen, and a few other bells and whistles, all for the low price of $252.
The phone has a 6.67-inch full HD screen and is equipped with Nokia’s OZO Audio technology for an incredible audiovisual experience. The camera has a quad lens with a 48-pixel primary camera and three other cameras, as well as a battery that can last all day through the use of Android 11’s adaptive battery and a 4,470mAh cell. The phone also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card since you only get 128GB of battery. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 480 chip backs the phone’s 5G capability. The phone is still running Android 11 software, but Nokia has promised it will have three software updates in the future.
Nokia’s phones are perfect for users who want an easy, no-fuss phone with dependable technology and features.
Cristian Capelli, HMD Global’s Vice President for North America, said in a statement, “The launch of the Nokia X100 is the next step in our carrier expansion and represents our first X-series device made specifically for the needs of the U.S. consumer. This device perfectly balances power with affordability, all while staying true to the durability and reliability Nokia phones are known for.”
The Nokia X100 will be available to purchase at T-Mobile and Metro stores nationwide for $252 starting November 19, 2021.
